近日,一段外国老人在重庆救落水女孩的视频在网上流传。在网友们的称赞声中，救人老人的身份也传开了。原来，他是英国驻重庆总领事馆总领事史云森（Stephen Ellison）。

11月17日的外交部例行记者会上，有记者对英国驻重庆总领事馆总领事史云森14日救落水女大学生一事提问，外交部发言人赵立坚回应称：我也看到了有关的报道。他见义勇为的举动值得赞扬，我要为他点个“大大的赞”。（We have seen relevant reports. Such a brave act is commendable and I'd like to give him a big thumbs-up.）

对此，史云森说，来自中国外交部的赞，他收到了。感谢中国政府和中国人民的肯定，他将更努力地工作。 


史云森是英国驻重庆总领事馆设立以来的第七任总领事，于11月16日正式上任。11月14日，史云森在重庆市江津区中山古镇游玩时，遇见一名女孩溺水，他立即跳入水中，与岸上人员合力将落水女孩救起。

据英国驻重庆总领事馆在官方微博上分享的视频显示，在重庆著名景区中山古镇，当时一名女孩在河边石头上拍照不慎滑倒，落入水中。有目击者向当地媒体反映，几名男子立即赶到河边，想要将落水女孩从河里拉出来，然而女孩不会游泳，在水中惊慌挣扎，人被急流冲到桥下，面部朝下。

Video footage shared by the consulate shows that a young woman had slipped while taking a photo on a rock beside the river in Zhongshan Old Town, a famous scenic spot in Chongqing. Witnesses told local media that several men immediately rushed to the bank and tried to pull her out of the water, but the woman, apparently unable to swim, struggled in panic and was carried away under the foot bridge by the fast moving current. She soon emerged face down in the water.

在尖叫的人群中，一名白发外国人迅速脱掉鞋子，跳入水中。在周围人的帮助下，将女子带到安全的地方。

Amid the screams of the crowd, a white-haired foreign man took his shoes off quickly and jumped into the water. With the help of the other people on the bank, he swam her to safety.

周一，英国驻重庆总领事馆确认视频中的这名外国人就是61岁的史云森，他于10月来到重庆，本周一刚刚上任。

Britain's mission in Chongqing confirmed on Monday that the foreign man in the video was Ellison, a 61-year-old diplomat who arrived in the city in October. He just started his official term on Monday.

此次赴渝任职之前，史云森在中国已有9年的工作、生活经历。2014年到2018年，曾在英国驻华大使馆的英国国际贸易部工作，担任公使衔参赞。而今年61岁的他还是一位运动达人，去年获得了北京国际铁人三项赛对应年龄组别的冠军。

Ellison has lived in China for a total of about nine years, which included a stint as minister counselor and director of the Department for International Trade at the British embassy in Beijing from 2014 to 2018.

He also competed in the Beijing International Triathlon last year and won the event in his age group.

根据英国驻重庆总领事馆在官方微博发布的说明，由于救援及时，女孩很快恢复呼吸和知觉，已无大碍。史云森上岸后，得到当地村民的悉心照顾。为他找来热咖啡暖身，并找来村民的干衣服换上。史云森对村民为他提供的照顾表示感谢。
