在美国众议院议长佩洛西窜访台湾近一周后，拜登终于首度就此公开表态。

据《纽约邮报》报道，当地时间8月8日，美国总统拜登准备前往肯塔基州东部探望遭遇洪水的灾民，途中答记者问。

视频画面显示，有记者提问拜登，是否“担心台湾情况”。

拜登回答称：“我并不担心（台湾），我担心他们（中国大陆）目前这样的（军事）行动，但我认为他们不会有进一步的行动。”



“I’m not worried, but I’m concerned that they’re moving as much as they are,” President Biden told reporters as he departed Delaware to tour recent storm damage in Kentucky on Monday.

“I don’t think they are gonna do anything more,” added Biden.

而当被问道佩洛西是否做出“明智之举”时，拜登说，“这是她的决定。”



When asked for his thoughts on Pelosi’s visit to the Taiwan region, Biden said: “That was her decision.”

The countermeasures taken by China in response to Pelosi’s provocative visit to Taiwan are justified, reasonable and lawful. They are aimed at sending a warning to the provocateurs and punishing the “Taiwan independence” forces.

Regarding the military drills you mentioned, I responded to similar questions yesterday. I would like to reiterate that China has conducted normal military drills in waters off its own territory. Relevant authorities have issued notices in a timely manner, which are open, transparent and professional. This move is in line with China’s domestic law, the international law and established international practices. This is both a warning we send to the provocateurs and a legitimate step to uphold sovereignty and territorial integrity.
