Boosting Collaboration Across the Ice and Snow Industry: Investment and Development Platform Officially Launched
来源:21英语网    作者:21ST   日期: 2026-10-20

On October 15, the 2026 International Winter Sports Expo (hereinafter referred to as the “Winter Expo”) opened in Beijing. BONSKI, a Chinese operator specialising in indoor ski resorts and ice and snow leisure destinations, participated in the event, including its opening ceremony and the Global Ice and Snow Industry Summit. The company focuses on venue operations and the development of year-round winter sports experiences.

From the launch of a new industry investment and development platform to the recognition of its practical achievements in authoritative reports and the sharing of industry insights at high-level forums, BONSKI is moving beyond the traditional boundaries of venue operations through platform-based collaboration. Its efforts aim to unlock new opportunities for coordinated growth across the ice and snow industry.

That morning, the Ice and Snow Industry Investment and Development Platform was officially unveiled at the main forum of the opening ceremony, where the founding partners signed a cooperation agreement. Jointly initiated by BONSKI, Saudi Arabia’s Bin Jarallah Group, Victory Star Design, and Eternal Star Ice & Snow, the platform brings together key players from across the industry to promote integrated development and investment.

Huang Shuping, Executive President of Sunac China, President of its Culture and Tourism Business Division, and Chairman of BONSKI, delivered remarks at the ceremony, highlighting the platform’s role in advancing China’s ice and snow industry. He noted that the initiative aligns with national development plans and brings together stakeholders across venue operations, design, equipment, and capital investment.

Using integrated ice and snow complexes as a key vehicle, the platform aims to popularise winter sports, nurture young talent, and bring ice and snow activities to more cities and households. Looking ahead, Huang added, the initiative will also foster synergies across cultural tourism ecosystems, including theme parks, commercial complexes, and hotels, creating new opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.

Khaled Sindi, Senior Advisor for International Cooperation at Bin Jarallah Group, highlighted the growing importance of ice and snow industry cooperation in bilateral relations. He noted that such cooperation has emerged as a promising area for economic, trade, and cultural exchanges under the China–Saudi Arabia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Bin Jarallah Group is a diversified conglomerate with a broad business portfolio spanning smart cities, finance, industrial manufacturing, mining, cultural tourism, and other sectors. The group will leverage its capital and international resources to support the development of ice and snow projects in China while helping Chinese expertise and technologies enter Middle Eastern markets. Through cooperation in winter sports, the partnership aims to strengthen industrial ties and promote cultural exchange between the two countries.

Sun Xiangshu, Chairman and President of Victory Star Design, emphasised the importance of design innovation throughout the project lifecycle. Victory Star Design is a Chinese design service provider specialising in ice and snow-related cultural tourism projects, with 20 years of experience in the end-to-end design of ice and snow venues.

Drawing on its comprehensive design capabilities, the company will work closely with its partners to deliver high-quality ice and snow projects, promote two-way cooperation between China and international markets, and unlock new opportunities for growth across the ice and snow economy.

Li Zixin, President and Chief Ice and Snow System Designer of Eternal Star Ice & Snow, expressed confidence in the potential of the four partners to integrate the entire value chain of ice and snow projects, encompassing design, equipment, operations, and capital investment. He highlighted the importance of combining their respective strengths to develop benchmark projects and create greater value through industrial collaboration.

Eternal Star Ice & Snow is a Chinese enterprise specialising in the development of domestic ice and snow equipment. With more than two decades of research and development experience in snowmaking machinery, the company has played a pioneering role in advancing the localisation of ice and snow equipment in China. Through the new platform, it will contribute its technological expertise to the development of integrated ice and snow complexes.

The signing ceremony marked a key milestone in the platform’s establishment. Liu Wensheng, President of BONSKI; Khaled Sindi, Senior Advisor for International Cooperation at Bin Jarallah Group; Chang Hailong, Executive President and Chief Architect of Victory Star Design; and Long Xiaotong, Vice President of Eternal Star Ice & Snow, formally signed the four-party cooperation agreement. Huang Shuping, Sun Xiangshu, and Li Zixin witnessed the signing, marking the official establishment of the Ice and Snow Industry Investment and Development Platform.

Moving beyond the standalone project partnerships that have traditionally characterised the market, the platform adopts an integrated industrial partnership model driven by two complementary pillars: asset management and operations. It brings together capital investment, planning and design, equipment technology, and venue management, covering the entire project lifecycle, from initial investment and construction to post-completion operations and maintenance.

The platform will support China’s “Southward Expansion, Westward Spread and Eastward Advancement” strategy for the development of ice and snow sports, helping expand the supply of ice and snow facilities and make winter sports more accessible to the public. It will also establish pathways for developing young skiing talent, identifying and nurturing promising athletes through structured training programmes and tiered competitions.

By creating an integrated ecosystem linking ski resort projects, industrial clusters, and consumer markets, the platform aims to deliver practical solutions for industry-wide collaboration and drive the high-quality development of China’s ice and snow economy.
