当地时间28日下午，日本首相安倍晋三召开新闻发布会表示，因发现旧疾溃疡性大肠炎复发，为避免个人健康状况影响执政，决定辞去日本首相的职务。安倍表示不设临时代理，任职到选出下一任首相为止。

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said at a press conference on Friday that he will step down from his post due to health concerns. Abe, 65, wanted to avoid causing problems to the government due to his worsening chronic illness, national broadcaster NHK reported earlier on Friday.  Abe's resignation will trigger a leadership race in the Liberal Democratic Party, the winner of which must be formally elected in parliament.

安倍1954年出生于山口县，2006年9月底首次当选日本首相。翌年9月，因支持率大降及罹患溃疡性大肠炎，安倍宣布辞职。2012年12月，安倍再度担任日本首相至今。

During his first tenure as prime minister, which started in late September 2006, the 65-year-old abruptly stepped down from his post in 2007 due to chronic ulcerative colitis. Abe returned to office in 2012.

日本首相连续在位时间最长纪录

截至本月24日，安倍自2012年再次就任首相以来连续在位时间长达2799天，打破了日本首相连续在位时间最长纪录。安倍2012年再次就任首相后的在任总天数，超过前日本首相佐藤荣作的2798天，成为史上连续在任时间最长的日本首相。如果计入他首次执政时间，安倍去年11月就已成为累计在任时间最长的日本首相。明年9月和10月，安倍的自民党总裁和众议员任期将相继届满。

He became Japan's longest-serving prime minister last November. Abe broke another record on Monday after being in power for 2,799 uninterrupted days. His current term was expected to last until September 2021.

数度入院引发健康问题担忧

安倍近来频繁就医引发外界对其健康问题的担忧。继上周突然入院体检后，24日安倍又赴同一家医院听取结果并“接受更多检查”，再次引发外界对他健康状况的猜疑。安倍本月17日在庆应大学医院停留7个多小时，令外界怀疑他身体抱恙或因工作过于劳累。消息人士和院方的说法是，安倍只是做体检，健康没问题。

Abe on Monday returned to a hospital in Tokyo a week after he purportedly received a "health checkup" amid swirling rumors about the state of his health. According to government sources close to the prime minister, Abe has returned to the Keio University Hospital to receive the results of the medical checks conducted during the more than seven-hour regular "health checkup" a week prior.

本周一，安倍回到首相官邸后告诉媒体记者：“我将尽力工作，同时采取一切预防措施确保健康。”不过安倍拒绝披露接受何种检查，称以后会公布。

"I'd like to take care of my health and do my best at my job," Abe told reporters at his official residence after visiting the hospital on Monday.

日本杂志《Flash》8月初报道，安倍7月6日在首相官邸办公时曾吐血。

As concerns about the premier's health have been growing in recent days, a weekly magazine reported that Abe vomited blood at his office on July 6.
