9月16日下午，日本执政党自民党新任总裁菅义伟成为日本新首相，接替卸任的安倍晋三。菅义伟是日本第99任首相，他将完成安倍晋三剩余的自民党总裁任期至2021年9月。

Yoshihide Suga, the new leader of the ruling Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party, took office as new prime minister on Sept 16. Succeeding Shinzo Abe, Suga is Japan’s 99th prime minister. His tenure will last through the remainder of Abe’s term as LDP leader until September 2021.
