Rewards for tip-offs

今年10月1日，修订后的《上海市食品安全举报奖励办法》正式施行，上海市民举报食品安全问题可获得更高额度的奖励。《办法》规定，食品安全监管部门按照举报案件罚没款金额综合考虑，计算奖励金额，每起案件的举报奖励金额原则上不超过50万元，此前的奖励额度为30万元。提升奖励金额旨在进一步鼓励举报食品安全问题，加强上海的食品卫生安全。食品安全违法犯罪包括未经许可从事食品、食品添加剂生产经营活动或者食品相关产品生产活动等。

From Oct 1, Shanghai citizens who alert authorities to food safety incidents could get higher rewards for tip-offs, according to the Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation. Those who inform the government of these acts may receive up to 500,000, while the previous maximum was 300,000 yuan. The increase aims to further encourage tip-offs and strengthen Shanghai’s food safety. The violations include unlicensed producing and selling of food and adding banned additives.
