按照英国政府的规划，在英国各地提供这款疫苗的接种服务时，护理院人员、80岁以上老人以及一线医护和社会工作者将优先接种。

Patients aged 80 and above who are already attending hospitals as outpatients and those being discharged after a stay in the hospital will be among the first to receive the jab. Hospitals will also start inviting over 80s in for a vaccine shot and will work with nursing homes to book staff into vaccination clinics. Any appointments not taken up will be offered to those health workers deemed to be at the highest risk of COVID-19.

She was followed by 81-year-old William Shakespeare, who spoke to ITV's Good Morning Britain prior to Hancock's appearance.

Body language expert Judi James said Mr Hancock did not appear to show some of the tell-tale symptoms of crying, such as watery eyes or scrunching his face. ‘It was not a particularly convincing display but he’s earned his moment of emotion so we probably should give him the benefit of the doubt,’ she said. ‘Perhaps he had been sobbing with joy privately and wanted to give the public a taster of how he was feeling behind the scenes.’
