卫国戍边英雄 
Hero Safeguarding the Motherland and Protecting Borders

2月19日，《解放军报》刊发了反映中印边境任务部队官兵卫国戍边先进事迹的报道，证实在去年6月的中印边境冲突中，中方有4名官兵牺牲，1名团长重伤。中央军委向在加勒万河谷地区英勇回击外军恶意挑衅的官兵授予荣誉称号，追授营长陈红军“卫国戍边英雄”荣誉称号，给陈祥榕、肖思远、王焯冉追记一等功，在冲突中受重伤的祁发宝被授予“卫国戍边英雄团长”荣誉称号。

On Feb 19, the People’s Liberation Army Daily reported that the Central Military Commission had honored two officers and three soldiers for defending the country’s western border. One of the officers, Battalion Commander Chen Hongjun received the title of “Hero Safeguarding the Motherland and Protecting Borders”, while Chen Xiangrong, Xiao Siyuan and Wang Zhuoran received first-class merit. They all died in a clash provoked by Indian forces in the Galwan Valley last June. Qi Fabao, who was seriously injured in the skirmish, received the title of "Hero Regiment Commander for Defending the Border."

马上学：Safeguard和protect两个动词都表示“保护、保卫”的意思，卫国戍边可以译为safeguarding the motherland and protecting borders 。此外，还可以用动词defend表示“保家卫国”，即protect our homes and defend our country。
