据《纽约时报》报道，最早在英国发现的B.1.1.7变种新冠病毒已经传播到美国至少46个州。美国传染病专家席琳•冈德(Celine Gounder)表示这种变种毒株正在呈“指数级增长”。据悉，该变种毒株比原新型冠状病毒的传染性高59% - 74%。然而，得克萨斯州、密西西比州等美国多州却取消了口罩禁令，重新打开州门。

The coronavirus variant B.1.1.7, first found in the UK, has spread to at least 46 states in the US, according to The New York Times. Celine Gounder, an American infectious diseases specialist, warned that it is “increasing exponentially”. The variant is said to be 59 to 74 percent more transmissible than the original novel coronavirus. However, more US states, including Texas and Mississippi, have announced plans to drop mask mandates and reopen their states.
