据《环球时报》报道，4月2日，台铁“太鲁阁号”408次列车发生脱轨事故，造成50余人死亡。共八节车厢的事故列车在行至花莲县大清水隧道时，与自隧道附近滑落的工程车碰撞，导致列车脱轨。事故发生在太鲁阁大峡谷风景区附近，且正值中国台湾清明假期第一天，列车载有近500名乘客。

A train derailment in Taiwan on April 2 resulted in over 50 deaths, Global Times reported. An eight-carriage passenger train derailed inside a tunnel in Hualien county after hitting a truck that had slid down a bank onto the track. The crash occurred near the Taroko Gorge scenic area (风景区) on the first day of the holiday weekend. The train had been carrying almost 500 people.
