据印度卫生部24日公布的疫情数据，印度较前一日新增新冠确诊病例222315例，累计确诊26752447例；新增死亡4454例，累计死亡达到303720例。

印度成为继美国、巴西后第三个累计新冠死亡病例数超过30万例的国家。

India is now the third country in the world after Brazil and the United States to surpass more than 300,000 official deaths.



尽管近期印度单日新冠确诊病例数多日下降，但由于死亡病例报告相对于确诊病例报告滞后两周左右，因此当前死亡病例数仍维持高位。

德里部长：政府疫苗政策是个“笑话”

当前印度日增确诊病例减少，但疫苗短缺问题仍然没有得到解决。

据CNN报道，印度德里副部长Manish Sisodia在当地时间周一发表网络讲话，在谈及印度中央政府在疫苗采购和分发方面所做的工作时，他称印度中央政府的疫苗推广就是个“笑话”，并且表示包括辉瑞在内的国际公司拒绝了他们的疫苗采购申请。

Delhi’s deputy chief minister said the Indian central government's vaccine rollout is “a joke," saying international companies including Pfizer have declined their separate requests for vaccines.“What kind of a joke is being made of vaccines,” Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said in an online address Monday, while discussing the central government's efforts at vaccine procurement and distribution.

Sisodia说：“如果我们向中央政府申请印度公司的疫苗，他们说只能给我们40万剂。”CNN报道称，2011年的统计显示，德里的人口超过1100万。

“If we ask the central government for vaccines from Indian companies, they say they will give us only 4 lakh (400,000 doses),” Sisodia said. The population of Delhi was more than 11 million in the last census in 2011.

Sisodia补充道，地方政府直接联系外国疫苗制造公司时，却被告知公司正在和印度联邦政府进行沟通，莫德纳和辉瑞拒绝了他们的请求，表示不会将疫苗出售给单独的印度地方邦。

Sisodia added that when state governments went directly to foreign companies, they were told the companies were negotiating with the federal government instead. The deputy chief minister claimed Moderna and Pfizer had declined the local government's requests for vaccinations, saying they would not sell to individual states.

此外，Sisodia还质疑为何印度仍然仅依靠两款国产疫苗，而这些疫苗在出口时并未首先满足国内需求。“为什么没有疫苗了，哪去了？我说过很多次，应该批评中央政府。如果印度被迫面对新冠疫情压力，那都是因为中央政府的疫苗管理政策彻底失败了。”

Sisodia questioned why India is still dependent solely on two domestically-made vaccines, which were exported without first catering to in-country demand. “Why are vaccines not available, where did they go? I have said many times the central government is to blame for this," Sisodia said. "If the country is forced to deal with the brunt of corona it's because the central government has completely failed in vaccine management."

据《今日印度》报道，当时一组医护人员进入村庄进行疫苗接种，但是不少村民却逃跑跳进河中。尽管医护人员解释了疫苗的重要性和好处，仍然只有14人选择接种。

村民们则说，他们这样做是因为有人告诉他他们，接种的不是疫苗，是毒剂……

The villagers said they jumped into the river because some people had told them that this was not a vaccine, but a poisonous injection.

瑜伽大师侮辱现代医学引发愤怒

面对严峻的疫情形势，印度的医疗资源也面临巨大压力。不过就在此时，还有瑜伽大师发表针对现代医学的侮辱性言论，引发医护人员愤怒。
 


 
据BBC报道，印度医生抗议瑜伽大师Baba Ramdev近来针对现代医药的争议性言论。后者曾说上万新冠死亡病例是在使用现代医药后死亡的，并且嘲讽那些急需氧气瓶的患者。

Doctors in India have hit out against yoga guru Baba Ramdev over his controversial statements against modern medicine. He recently said that tens of thousands died of Covid after taking modern medicines and mocked patients for trying to get oxygen cylinders. 

在社交媒体上，流传着Ramdev嘲讽患者的视频，尽管尚不清楚视频何时录制，但是可以听出他提到的背景是4-5月时印度多个城市出现了医用氧气缺乏。

A video of Baba Ramdev mocking patients for trying to find oxygen went viral earlier this month. It's not clear when he made the statement, but he is heard making references to oxygen shortages in several cities in April and May.

据BBC报道，Ramdev在视频中说“氧气是上天给的”、“傻子正在找氧气瓶，呼吸免费的氧气就好了”、“为什么你们抱怨氧气、病床和火葬不足”……此外，还有视频显示Ramdev还曾说过“对抗疗法很愚蠢”等。

而这一番言论，也遭到医生、患者家属的强烈批评，要求其道歉。

The statements drew sharp criticism from doctors and families of Covid patients who demanded an apology.

据《印度时报》网站报道，印度医药协会向Ramdev发出了法律声明，并呼吁印度有关部门对此采取措施。

The guru withdrew his statement after the health minister criticised him.

另据专家预测，印度第二波疫情可能于7月结束，但是6个月后，可能将迎来第三轮疫情。
