The Prime Minister of the UK took to China's Sina Weibo on Tuesday to send a message to Russian President, Vladimir Putin, warning about "doing what would be a disastrous mistake for the country." This move both baffled and amused netizens.  


这条微博写道：“我们正处于悬崖的边缘，但普京总统还有时间退一步思考。我们敦促所有人参与对话——俄罗斯政府应避免做出对本国造成灾难性错误的决定。”

"We are on the verge of a cliff. Yet, President Putin still has time to step back and think. We urge everyone to get involved into dialogue. The Russian government should avoid doing what would be a disastrous mistake for the country," UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson posted on his Sina Weibo account on Tuesday, three months after its last tweet on the promise made by China and the US on climate change. 

值得注意的是，该账号的上一条微博还是在3个月前，有关中美两国应对气候变化问题的承诺。


截至16日中午，该微博下的评论接近4万条，其中不少评论的获赞数量也十分可观。目前尚不得知英国首相为何选择微博平台发布这样一则消息，毕竟“普京没有微博账号，也看不懂中文”。

The post was soon trending on Sina Weibo. It has received nearly 40,000 comments. Yet, the seemingly solemn post triggered wide sarcasm among Chinese netizens. "Why is a UK Prime Minister sending a message to the Russian President on Chinese Sina Weibo? Putin has no account on this social platform," one netizen asked.

据报道，本周一，英国首相办公室称，本周一约翰逊和美国总统拜登进行了通话，认为俄乌之间尚存有“开展外交斡旋的关键窗口”。

UK Prime MinisterBoris Johnson and US President Joe Biden agreed in a call on Monday that a "crucial window for diplomacy" remained over the Ukraine situation, Johnson's office said.

16日中午，俄罗斯驻华大使馆微博账号连发两条微博回应称：

俄罗斯联邦没有进行任何重大军事活动，其部队驻扎在本国领土上，不对任何人构成威胁。如果西方真的致力于减少军事危险，那么他们应该关注乌克兰及其庇护人的行动，因为正是他们造成了这种危险。北约国家通过向乌克兰提供大量武器在该国境内继续进行军事开发的做法是使局势升级的例证。

西方对俄罗斯开展信息战的另一个例子是唐宁街的声明，这份旨在进一步煽动其操控的围绕所谓的“俄罗斯即将入侵乌克兰”的歇斯底里情绪的声明十分荒谬。俄罗斯外长谢尔盖•拉夫罗夫将此类西方的宣传行动称为“信息恐怖主义”。

The West and Kiev have recently been echoing allegations about Russia’s potential invasion of Ukraine. Bloomberg trotted out claims earlier citing unnamed sources that Russia’s ‘invasion of Ukraine’ may begin on Tuesday, February 15. Politico, another US-based publication, however, reported, also citing its sources, that during his online talks with the leaders of allied nations on Friday, US President Joe Biden said that Russia’s ‘aggression’ against Ukraine may allegedly begin on February 16.

俄方则对“入侵”予以否认，并强调北约活动威胁俄边境安全，俄方有权在境内调动部队以保卫领土。

在当地时间2月15日发表的一份措辞激烈的声明中，俄罗斯外交部发言人扎哈罗娃讥讽了数周以来美欧官员散布的报道和说法。 扎哈罗娃称，“2022年2月15日将作为西方战争宣传失败的一天而被载入史册。”她表示，当天一枪未发就让西方“被羞辱和摧毁”。与此同时，俄国防部宣布，部分俄军已经完成在白俄罗斯的训练演习，将开始撤离。

据《今日俄罗斯网站》报道，15日晚，普京新闻秘书、克里姆林宫发言人佩斯科夫在接受采访时被问道，乌克兰人今晚是否需要担心、能否安心入睡？佩斯科夫调侃道，相信俄罗斯今晚“入侵”的乌克兰人应该熬夜等着，免得在“袭击”中睡着，“他们最好设置好闹钟，自己看看。”
 


Russia has mocked claims made by Western media outlets that an “invasion” of Ukraine will begin at 3am on February 16, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov saying that Ukrainians who believe such things are welcome to stay up.“It’s better for them to set alarms for this time and see for themselves,” Peskov jokingly told RIA Novosti shortly after midnight on Wednesday, when asked whether Ukrainians can sleep peacefully or need to worry.

佩斯科夫此前曾笑称，普京开玩笑说地问过他，西方媒体是否已公布精确到小时的开战时间。

Peskov previously joked that Putin sometimes asks him – likewise in jest – if the exact time of the “invasion” has been published in the Western press.

据报道，当天早些时间，俄罗斯国防部宣布与白俄罗斯的联合演习按计划结束，并放出了坦克等装备返回俄罗斯的视频。

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the joint exercises in Belarus had ended as scheduled, and showed videos of tanks and other equipment traveling back to Russia.

同样在15日，美国总统拜登也发表了讲话，表示会尽可能通过外交渠道解决问题以避免发生冲突。
 


据CNN报道，俄方宣布已经撤回了部分完成军事演习的部队，但是演习将继续。

Russia announced earlier Tuesday that some of its troops would return to base after completing recent drills, but stressed that major military exercises would continue.

拜登还表示，美国尚未证实俄罗斯在俄乌边境地区完成军事演习后已经开始撤出部分军队。拜登警告称，“入侵仍然是有可能的（invasion remains distinctly possible）。”

Biden cautioned that the US has not yet verified that Russia has begun the withdrawal of some troops following the completion of recent military drills.

16日，中国外交部发言人汪文斌在例行记者会上回答了相关问题。汪文斌就当前乌克兰局势表示：

“连日来，美方炒作战争威胁、制造紧张空气，给乌克兰国内经济社会安定和民众生活带来严重冲击，也为有关方面推进对话谈判增添了阻力。”

“For days, the US has been playing up the threat of war and creating an air of tension. This has gravely impacted the economy, social stability and people’s lives in Ukraine, and added obstacles to advancing dialogue and negotiation between parties concerned. ”

“我注意到，近日俄方表示，西方在乌克兰问题上实行了‘信息恐怖主义’，2月15日是美西方‘宣传失败日’。必须指出，正是美西方一些人不断煽动散播虚假信息，给这个原本充满挑战的世界增加了更多动荡和不确定性，加剧了不信任和分裂。我们希望有关方面停止此类虚假信息攻势，多做有利于和平、互信、合作的事。”

“I noted that the Russian side recently said that the West has resorted to ‘information terrorism’on the Ukraine issue, and that February 15, 2022 will go down in history as the day of the failure of Western propaganda. We must point out that it is exactly the persistent hyping and dissemination of disinformation by some in the West that has added more turbulence and uncertainty to the world already fraught with challenges and intensified distrust and division. We hope relevant parties can stop such disinformation campaign and do more things that benefit peace, mutual trust and cooperation.”
