Caroline Wilson, UK's newly-appointed ambassador to China, has started her 14-day quarantine since she arrived in Beijing last week. She shared some latest quarantine vlogs via Weibo and applauded Beijing's strong pandemic prevention and control measures, which enabled the city a return to normalcy. She also commended the professional staff at the airport. She said Beijing is very different from 20 years ago, and she "does not know the city anymore."
From 1997 to 2000, she completed her Mandarin language training at Beijing Normal University before taking up her first role overseas at the British Embassy in the Chinese capital.
Wilson said China and the UK, as two major economies and leading members of the international community, "must continue to work together" to develop the partnership."I look forward to returning to China to take the relationship forward", she said.
