Female giant panda Ya Ya arrived in Shanghai from the United States at 4:26 p.m. (Beijing Time) on Thursday, according to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. Accompanied by veterinarians and other related workers, Ya Ya headed to a special quarantine site set up by the Shanghai Zoo, where she will stay for a month.

在机场附近,有大批粉丝围观“丫丫”回国,飞机落地的瞬间有人喜极而泣,更别提还有亿万网友“云接机”!
Groups of Shanghai residents rushed to the airport to welcome Ya Ya. Videos show the crowd that was waiting for Ya Ya burst into cheers when they saw the flight carrying Ya Ya descending. For panda lovers who could not make it to the Shanghai airport, they launched an online "pickup" for Ya Ya.
Video footage released by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration late Thursday night showed Ya Ya enjoying bamboo shoots and wandering around a large room, attended by a number of carers.
The zoo has prepared abundant bamboo and supplementary foods for the 23-year-old panda. An expert team from the Beijing Zoo will stay at the quarantine site to attend to her needs during the period.
To make preparations for Ya Ya's return, a veterinarian and a panda keeper from the Beijing Zoo arrived at the Memphis Zoo last month. They worked with experts from the Chinese Association of Zoological Gardens who had arrived earlier to familiarize themselves with Ya Ya's habits and feeding conditions.
Memphis Zoo, where Ya Ya has spent the past 20 years, issued a statement on Wednesday saying that "after 20 years, Ya Ya has become like family, and she will be sorely missed by the Memphis Zoo staff and the local community…We wish her the best of luck in her new home."
Ya Ya was born at the Beijing Zoo on Aug. 3, 2000. She and fellow giant panda Le Le arrived at the Memphis Zoo in April 2003 as envoys of friendship, and they were warmly welcomed. Sadly, Le Le died of heart disease in February this year, ahead of the pair's scheduled return to China. The remains of the 25-year-old panda were repatriated on the same flight as Ya Ya today.
Heart disease has been determined as the cause of death for Le Le, Chinese Association of Zoological Gardens announced on Thursday, the same day Le Le's body was returned to China.
