据美国有线电视新闻网(CNN)统计，截至美东时间10日早，全美已确诊至少717例新冠肺炎病例，其中包括死亡病例26例。疫情迅速蔓延至全美36个州和首都华盛顿特区，美国至少10个州宣布进入紧急状态，以调动更多应急资源。
CNN reported, at least 26 people have died from the virus in the United States. Nationwide, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases jumped to 717, according to figures from local, state and federal health officials. There are now 36 states with coronavirus cases. At least ten states have declared states of emergency in response to the novel coronavirus outbreak, so far.

上周一，高口碑医疗美剧《良医》（The Good Doctor）的主演弗莱迪·海默（Freddie Highmore），做客《吉米今夜秀》节目时，聊到了新冠肺炎疫情给剧组带来的“令人始料未及”的影响。
While chatting on Jimmy Kimmel Live last Monday, The Good Doctor star Freddie Highmore told the talk show host all about how Coronavirus is affecting his show "in a different way" than people might expect.
海默说，虽然剧组没有因为疫情停工，但让人头疼的是，片场的道具医用口罩（surgical masks）和护目镜(goggles)都快被人拿光了……
The actor explained: "They called us all into set the other day and said, 'We know you're all really worried about the Coronavirus, but you gotta stop taking the surgical masks from the set because we’re running out…'"
他无可奈何的开玩笑说道：“如果最后一集你看到我们都穿着短裤、T恤和墨镜登场，那是因为护目镜都被拿光了……”
"So, if you see in the season finale where they’re in shorts and a t-shirt and sunglasses, because the goggles have gone…"
让人哭笑不得的是，被偷走的道具口罩还是已经过期的，所以很可能失效了……
Freddie added that the masks likely won't actually do anyone any good because they’re past their prime.
海默接着吐槽道，更让他“一脸问号”的是，就连道具杀菌皂（anti-bacterial soap）也被偷走了。杀菌又不杀病毒，就问你们偷个啥劲呢？
He revealed cast and crew are also "stealing" the antibacterial soap from the set "but it's a virus so it's completely useless."
这部被“偷口罩的”美剧《良医》，改编自韩国同名电视剧，在美国ABC电视台播出，曾创下2017年年度全美最受欢迎电视剧的佳绩，目前已播出三季。
疫情期间，这部剧在中国国内又重新火了一次，狂揽大批新剧粉。

不过，听完海默在节目里的吐槽，国内小伙伴也好奇：美国口罩究竟短缺到啥地步，都让人从片场顺走“公物”了？
此前，据《纽约邮报》报道，2月25日，美国卫生与公众服务部长亚历克斯·阿扎在接受国会议员质询时称，美国目前医疗物资应急储备严重短缺，医护人员的口罩需求缺口达到近3亿。

据《金融时报》3月3日一篇名为《亚马逊打击与新冠病毒相关产品的高售价》的报道称，在亚马逊网站上，有些商家甚至将洗手液和口罩的价格提升至日常零售价的2000%。

防控疫情，一线医护物资必不可少。在这种情况下，美国也开始急了……
据中国日报报道，当地时间3月6日，有美国媒体报道称，特朗普政府已经批准豁免自中国进口的100多种医疗产品的进口关税，包括口罩、医用手套和消毒湿巾。
The Trump administration has granted exclusions from import tariffs for more than 100 medical items imported from China, including face masks, examination gloves and sanitizing wipes.
该美国媒体报道称，美国政府这次批准了27家企业的关税豁免申请。这些企业在1月31日的截止日期之前提交了申请，那时疫情主要发生在中国，但是美国公司已着手准备应对国内流行的情况了。

Requests to exclude other products from President Donald Trump’s Section 301 tariffs on Chinese goods have taken months. Apple Inc’s (AAPL.O) requests for exclusions on products from AirPod headphones to the HomePod smart speaker filed on Oct. 31 are still pending.
其实，美国早就有人在呼吁扩大医疗用品的进口。
去年6月，美国贸易代表办公室举办的听证会上，美国卫生行业分销商协会主席马修就曾作证说：“关税给医疗服务和公共卫生带来的风险，大于其给贸易或经济带来的益处”。
"The risks to health care and public health from tariffs outweigh any benefit to trade or economics," Matthew Rowan, president of the Health Industry Distributors Association said.
可惜当时的美国政府并没有听进去。

据美国商业内幕网（Business Insider）报道，上周，共和党参议员科里·加德纳致信美国贸易代表办公室称，扩大医疗用品的供应对控制美国疫情至关重要。

"To ensure that the United States is prepared to contain and combat the spread of this outbreak, it is crucial that there is a robust supply of critical medical products," Republican Senator Cory Gardner wrote in a letter to the USTR last week.
