据立陶宛国家广播电视台（LRT）1月4日报道，立陶宛总统瑙塞达当日表示该国政府允许以“台湾”名义设代表处是一个“错误”。

当地时间1月4日，立陶宛总统吉塔纳斯·瑙赛达（Gitanas Nausėda）接受立陶宛Žinių Radijas广播电台采访时称，立陶宛允许台当局以“台湾”名义在首都维尔纽斯设立“代表处”的时候，犯下了错误，为此引起中国大陆强烈反应。

Lithuania made a mistake when it allowed Taiwan to open a representative office in Vilnius under its own name, thus provoking a strong reaction from China, President Gitanas Nausėda said on Tuesday. 

瑙赛达称：“我认为，错误不是允许台湾开设‘代表处’，而错在（代表处的）名称，没人和我协商过这个问题。”

"I think it was not the opening of the Taiwanese office that was a mistake, but the name, which was not coordinated with me," he told the Žinių Radijas radio station.

瑙塞达还说，尽管立陶宛和台湾地区都可以开设不具有外交地位的代表处，但“代表处的名称已成为一个关键因素，它现在对我们与中国的关系产生非常严重的影响”。

他声称：“我认为这个名称是导火索，现在我们必须处理后果。”

"I believe the name was the spark, and now we have to deal with the consequences," the president said.

不过，瑙塞达仍未彻底反省，反而将矛头指向中国，声称中国已对立陶宛“采取非常规措施”，立陶宛“必须非常积极，并非常清楚地向欧盟发出信号——这是针对欧盟成员国之一的一次攻击和一种压力”。

"Unconventional measures have started to be taken against Lithuania, and we have to be very active and signal very clearly to the EU that this is an attack, a kind of pressure on one of the EU countries," he added.

在1月5日的外交部例行记者会上，针对立陶宛总统的这一最新表态，发言人汪文斌作出回应。

当地时间1月5日，在承认“错误”后，立陶宛总统瑙塞达又发了一条推特：“我一直以来都支持促进立陶宛与台北的经济纽带，以及双方互设非外交的贸易办事处。”这是瑙塞达明确表达：是台北（Taipei），而不是“台湾”。

瑙塞达还表示，立陶宛是一个主权国家，尊重国际承诺，且有权和世界上其他国家与地区建立联系。

事件回顾

2021年11月18日，立陶宛政府不顾中方严正交涉，允许台湾当局设立所谓“驻立陶宛台湾代表处”。此举公然在国际上制造“一中一台”， 背弃立方在两国建交公报中所作政治承诺，损害中国主权和领土完整，粗暴干涉中国内政。中方对此表示强烈不满和严正抗议，决定将中立两国外交关系降为代办级。

China has expressed strong protest over Lithuania's approval of the establishment of the so-called "Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania" and downgraded the diplomatic relations with Lithuania to the level of charge d'affaires in November, 2021.

在2021年11月19日的外交部例行记者会上，发言人赵立坚阐明由此产生的一切后果由立陶宛负责。（The Lithuanian side shall be responsible for all the ensuing consequences.）

赵立坚表示：“世界上只有一个中国，台湾是中国领土不可分割的一部分，中华人民共和国政府是代表全中国的唯一合法政府。我们要求立方立即纠正错误决定。我们也正告台湾当局，妄图挟洋谋‘独’是打错了算盘，注定逃脱不了失败的下场。”

“对于中方将采取何种必要措施，可以拭目以待。立方咎由自取，必将自食其果。”

“There is but one China in the world, Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, and the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China. We demand that the Lithuanian side immediately correct its wrong decision. We also have this stern warning for the Taiwan authorities: Seeking ‘Taiwan independence’ by soliciting foreign support is a totally misguided attempt that is doomed to fail.

As to what necessary measures China will take, you may wait and see. The Lithuanian side shall reap what it sows. ”

立陶宛屡屡在台湾问题上挑衅中国以后，外媒又开始频频炒作立陶宛遭到中国“贸易报复”。

对此，外交部发言人汪文斌12月9日曾回应强调：中方一贯按照世贸组织的规则行事。立陶宛背信弃义，公然违背中立两国建交时向中方所作政治承诺，在世界上制造“一中一台”，严重损害中国国家主权和领土完整，在国际上开创恶劣先例，性质极为恶劣。我们坚决捍卫国家主权和领土完整，坚定维护自身核心利益。

“I want to stress that China always acts in a way that conforms to WTO rules. Lithuania acted in bad faith, renounced the political commitment it has made to China upon the establishment of diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China, and openly created the false impression of “one China, one Taiwan” in the world. Such egregious act seriously undermined China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and created a vile precedent in the world. We will resolutely uphold national sovereignty and territorial integrity and defend our core interests.  ”

实际上，立陶宛政府挑衅中国的行为也为其招致了国内不少质疑。

据立陶宛国家广播电视台（LRT）1月3日报道，在立陶宛国内反对党领袖公开批评现政府后，目前已95岁高龄的立陶宛前总统瓦尔达斯·阿达姆库斯也发声批评立政府的错误决定。

Lithuania’s former president, Valdas Adamkus, has criticised the country's decision to open a Taiwanese representative office in Vilnius, saying that the conflict with China has led to huge losses.

阿达姆库斯公开批评了立陶宛政府同意设立所谓“台湾代表处”的决定，他并且表示，与中国大陆的冲突导致立陶宛受到巨大损失，“我认为这种损失是巨大的，完全没有必要”。

"I believe the losses are huge, and that was completely unnecessary. It should have been well-discussed and coordinated with the Seimas, the government and the president, and it should have been done only upon reaching agreement on this support or non-support, recognition or non-recognition of Taiwan," Adamkus said in his interview with LRT published on Friday.

阿达姆库斯说：“我们（政府）不需要在世界（各国）应该怎么做这件事上跳出来做样子，我们的外交政策不能包括这样的事情，我希望这样的事情不要再发生了。”

"With all due respect for that small Lithuania, [...] it’s not up to us to set examples on how the world should behave, and our foreign policy cannot include such things, and I do hope it won’t happen again," the former president said.

报道介绍，1998年至2003年以及2004年至2009年，阿达姆库斯两度担任立陶宛总统。

另据参考消息报道，一年来，立陶宛政府除了受到中国大陆抵制之外，还受到白俄罗斯钾肥丑闻的影响，政府的信任度从2021年11月的21%下降到12月的17.3%，不信任度从39.6%上升到47.8%。
