Gu gets a tricky win

Even with the outbreak of the novel coronavirus affecting preparations for 2022, Chinese athletes are showing no signs of letting up in their quest for Olympic glory, recently highlighted by a series of inspirational wins in the International Ski Federation’s World Cup circuit.
尽管新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情对中国运动员备战2022年冬奥会有所影响，但他们并未停下追逐奥运荣誉的脚步，尤其是最近中国运动员在国际雪联自由式滑雪U型池世界杯的赛场上捷报频传，鼓舞人心。

China’s Gu Ailing, an American-born freestyle talent, made history by becoming the first ever back-to-back freeski World Cup winner in two different events at the same venue after claiming the slopestyle title in Calgary, Canada, on Feb 15.
中国队的谷爱凌出生在美国，是位自由式滑雪的天才选手。2月15日，她在加拿大卡尔加里获得坡面障碍技巧项目冠军，成为首位在同一站自由式滑雪世界杯上背靠背拿下两枚金牌的选手，创造了历史。

The day before, Gu had stormed to her first Cup gold in the halfpipe competition.

Gu again thrilled the crowds on Feb 15 in the slopestyle with another impressive display of technical riding, landing a string of difficult tricks, including a massive right 900° twist with a tail grab in her second run that earned her 89.18 points to dominate the 18-strong field.

Born to a Chinese mother and an American father in San Francisco, US, Gu, better known as Eileen in the States, completed a naturalization process last June to represent China in international competitions.
谷爱凌出生于美国旧金山，母亲是中国人，父亲是美国人，在美国更多人称她为Eileen。去年6月，谷爱凌正式转为中国国籍，在国际赛事中代表中国出征。

Now she has her sights set on doing her mother’s home country proud at the 2022 Beijing Games.
如今，她把目光放在2022年北京冬奥会上，希望能为母亲的祖国争光。

A versatile skier who has won many national junior titles in the US, Gu shot to prominence last month after winning two golds and a silver – in halfpipe, Big Air and slopestyle – at her debut Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne, Switzerland.
作为一位在美国多次获得全国青少年冠军，能够身兼多个项目的滑雪运动员，谷爱凌上个月在瑞士洛桑冬青奥会初次登台便获得了U型场地和大跳台的金牌以及坡面障碍技巧的银牌，从而一战成名。
