它是与北京奥运会同步举行的奥林匹克史上一次盛大的艺术盛宴。

It is a grandiose event in the Olympic history simultaneously staged with Beijing Olympic Games.

2008奥林匹克美术大会是由国际奥委会主办，文化部、北京奥组委支持的一项国家级、国际性的艺术展示和交流活动。

Olympic Fine Arts 2008 is a state-level international arts exhibition and exchange activity patronaged by the IOC and supported by the Ministry of Culture of China & the BOCOG.

作为“人文奥运”的主要内容，此活动已列入“相约北京——文化部2008重点奥运文化活动”，获得了罗格主席、何振梁先生的大力支持。

The great event has been listed “Meet in Beijing”, which has received great support from IOC President Jacques Rogge and Chairman of IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Education He Zhenliang.

本次活动以“中国，世界”作为创作主题。

The theme of the great event is “China, World”.

大会的参赛作品只在中国艺术家中征集。

All the works for the contest are collected merely among Chinese artists.

国际奥委会主席罗格等亲手将“艺术贡献奖”颁发给10位著名的艺术家，感谢他们为2008奥林匹克美术大会做出的贡献。

On this occasion, IOC President Jacques Rogge will confer the “Art Contribution Award” personally to ten famous artists to acknowledge their great contribution to the Olympic Fine Arts 2008.

颁奖典礼上，还分别颁发了雕塑、版画、国画、油画及数码艺术5个门类的25个铜奖和12个银奖。

On the Award Ceremony, 25 bronze medals and 12 silver medals are presented to artists in five genres, including sculpture, block print, Chinese painting, oil-painting and digital art.

2008奥林匹克美术大会组委会还计划建立一座奥林匹克美术中心。

Organizing committee of Olympic Fine Arts 2008 plans to establish Olympic Fine Arts Center.

入选此次活动的所有作品将被收藏陈列于此，以纪念2008年奥运会的成功举办。
